For couple who want their Caribbean getaway to include snorkeling and scuba diving, there is a lot to offer in the Caribbean. The beautiful Gulf waters are the perfect temperature for swimming and hold some of the most beautiful fish in the world. Here are some the the snorkeling hotspots:

Couples will find some of the world’s best scuba and snorkeling off beautiful sandy beaches, calm waters, abundant coral reefs, and large numbers of colorful tropical fish. Good sites include Cades Reef, Sunken rock, Dickenson Bay, Pineapple Beach areas. For more remote sites, try the waters off Prickly Pear Island. For more experienced divers, a short local air flight or 3.5-hour boat trip will take you to Barbuda Island, which is surrounded by many shipwrecks. We suggest that you make all arrangements at a dive shop in Antigua.

British Virgin Islands

Sandy Spit, close to Green Cay on Jost Van Dyke Island is an idyllic place for snorkeling. Also, the Bight, at Norman Island on the south end is good. Peter Island has good snorkeling and nearby Dead Chest Island is great for beginners.

Cayman Islands

Stingray City on Grand Cayman lets you swim freely with gentle stingrays for a unique adventure.

Experience snorkeling with ship wrecks, lots of colorful coral and tons of fish in the Curacao Underwater Marine Park.

St. Croix

Buck Island and Cane Bay, both off the Island’s north shore are popular and protected coral reef sites where couples can enjoy snorkeling or scuba in very clear water.

St. Lucia

Couples will find Anse Chastanet a snorkelers' paradise. The waters here are part of a protected marine reserve with very restricted fishing, so there is an abundance of tropical fish around its reefs. You will have to arrange for the trip since it is accessible primarily by boat.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines

For snorkeling or diving, we suggest Tobago Cays, not far from Canouan Island, where you will find some of the most spectacular coral reefs of the Caribbean, if not the world itself. If staying on Canouan, you can charter a boat to get there.

Turks and Caicos

With many reefs right off shore and classic, white-sand beaches, snorkeling in Providenciales, also known as Provo, is an amazing garden of coral and fish. This is also a destination for top-notch scuba diving.

U.S. Virgin Islands, St John

The U.S. Virgin Islands is renowned for its great snorkeling and diving. One of the best is Trunk Bay, which also has a gorgeous beach. For those with experience, the National park has an underwater trail. For lots of fish without lots of people, try Leinster Bay, which has beautiful and calm waters.
