Romantic Guide to Kauai

Love & Romance on Kauai: Five romantic things to do

  1. Sunset along the Napali Coast. Take a romantic cruise along the cliffs at sunset. These dramatic cliffs evoke a feeling of closeness. Splurge on a cruise that includes dinner and cocktails for an even more memorable experience.
  2. Kayak down a Kauai river. Kauai has the only navigable rivers in Hawaii, each with excellent scenery. These winding rivers pass by lush, jungle terrain, as well as waterfalls. Get a double kayak and enjoy the romantic surroundings.
  3. Intimate Hiking. For couples that love adventure, hike the 11-mile Kalalau Trail on Kauai’s North Shore. The first two miles take you to Hanakapiai Beach. But, if you continue another two miles, you will find the Hanakapiai Falls. This three-tired, 300-foot waterfall is magnificent. Make it even more romantic by soaking in one of the nearby pools. For those seeking an intimate night under the stars, continue on the rest of the trail to Kalalau Beach, where you can camp in a tent.
  4. Breathtaking Kauai from the air. Take a private helicopter tour to explore the island. With so much variation in terrain on Kauai, these tours are astonishing. You can see awesome views of Waimea canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, Napali Coast, and tropical beaches, plus some of the hundreds of waterfalls on the island.
  5. Clydesdale Carriage Ride. Take a charming ride through the Kilohana estate in a carriage drawn by a Clydesdale horse. After this scenic tour, you have a romantic diner at Gaylord’s Restaurant. The tour includes a special table set for two, a bottle of Champagne and an exquisite dinner.
