Sedona Romantic Getaways

Located only 90 miles north of Phoenix, Sedona is surrounded by the lush Coconino National Forest. Recently voted by USA Today as the most beautiful city in the United States, Sedona is one of Arizona's most popular destinations. Millions of tourists visit the Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon area each year for its scenic beauty, arts community, western history, world class hiking and golf, and its famous jeep tours. It is also has easy access to tours of the Red Rocks region.

Early Native Americans believed that the Red Rocks were sacred and the home of the gods. They traveled for days in order to perform ceremonies among the formations. Only valiant chiefs and medicine men were allowed into this sacred land. Cathedral Rock was considered as the birthplace of the first man and woman.

The motion picture industry has also filmed in Sedona. John Wayne's The Angel and the Badman and Robert Mitchums's  Blood On The Moon were filmed in Sedona. Photographers also love to take pictures with Sedona’s superb natural lighting. Many artists flock here to live or just spend some time working on their masterpieces in this outstanding backdrop for traditional or contemporary arts.

Outdoor activities abound with an ideal climate yearlong. Some favorite activities are hiking, watersports, biking, running, horseback riding, and archeological tours. There is excellent fishing. Oak Creek is regularly stocked with trout in the summer.

Sedona has a variety of accommodations, including fabulous resorts and charming bed & breakfast. There are outstanding spas, restaurants and shops. For those who want a little entertainment, Sedona has an assortment of festivals throughout the year, as well as regular performances as local bars, or enjoy classical music from the outstanding Chamber Music Sedona.
